Happy Tuesday

Sorry for the long absence y'all.  It's been a crazy couple of weeks.  We've been running around like crazy.  But today Rex went fishing with his friends, so Kylie and I have a nice quiet day at home.  And since Ky is napping right now, I thought I would sneak in a quick post.

Rex is now off of disability and back at work.  He had his MRI and it turns out he as a herniated disc in his back, but it's not big enough yet to do anything about it.  The doctor gave him the option of going back to work or staying on disability.  Rex chose to go back to work because after 90 days he would lose his spot and would have to take almost a 50% pay cut.  Not cool.  He is still seeing the doctor and I believe they are referring him to a back specialist to help manage the pain.

We got our taxes done the other day, and got enough back to pay off all our credit card bills.  Which I am super stoked about!!!! We will be debt free eventually.  And we always leave some money for each of us to buy whatever we want with it.  So I'm buying cloth diapers!!!!  Rex thinks I'm crazy for being this excited about it!!! Hee hee hee.  Now I just have to decide which ones I want!

The Bug just got her two front bottom teeth in, and is being a mite more crankier than usual, but that's to be expected.  She isn't too thrilled with the teething rings, but loves chewing on cold celery.  I'm going to order her a Sophie this week as soon as I get paid.  Anyone have good tips on dealing with a teething baby?  Rex wanted to put whisky on her gums but I wouldn't let him lol.

We currently have 12 chihuahuas in our house right now.  Yep, you read correctly, TWELVE freaking chihuahuas.  Josie had 6 puppies two weeks ago and we just rescued a four week old puppy the other day.  Luckily Josie is super mommy and is taking care of her babies like a champ.  She's eating like a horse, but that's to be expected with nursing six of the little buggers.  The chihuahua we rescued decided he is Ky's puppy.  We named him Zero after the dog in Nightmare Before Christmas.

So that's whats been happening in our crazy household this past couple of weeks.  I'll leave you with some pics of the always adorable Ky Bug (who is almost eight months old, eep!)

7 Months!!!

My little Kylie Louise is now 7 months old. Except she's not so little anymore.  She continues to amaze me with her personality and development.  She is really becoming her own little person now with likes and dislikes.

Ky now weighs 16 pounds and 4 ounces and is 26 1/2 inches long.  She is in the 20th percentile for weight, 50th for height, and 75th for head circumference.  And I'm definitely noticing the difference in weight.  She is a heavy little baby to carry around these days.  I remember when she was a newborn and when I was breastfeeding her, her little body was about as long as I was wide.  Now she sprawls out and her legs dangle off of my lap.

Her clothes size ranges anywhere from 0-3 to 6-9 for onesies and from 6 to 6-9 for pants.  I like it because it gives me an excuse to buy new clothes for her and all the summer ones are just too stinking cute!  Her feet are still tiny though, she is still wearing her 0-3 and 3-6 months socks and shoes.

I'm still breastfeeding and supplementing with formula.  It's getting a lot harder since I work full time now, but I'm doing my best.  I really want to try to make it to a year.  If I don't that's ok, but I'm going to do my best.  Ky is also on solids now.  So far she likes oatmeal, squash, sweet potatoes, corn, apples, carrots, and chicken.  She does not like prunes or green beans.  Kylie is getting much better at eating the food rather than letting it dribble down her chin.

The Ky Bug is talking up a storm too.  She can say mama, baba, dada, mop, bop, and lots of sounds and squeals.  She doesn't know what they all mean though.  She says "mamamamama" when she is really upset and "dadadadadada" when she's happy. Thanks kid.

She is now mobile. Ky rolls both ways like a champ and can get herself into crawling position. However, she is just army crawling at the moment.  And she goes backwards instead if forwards. Is my kid special or what? :). She reaches and lunges for things, including my quesadilla that she flipped off of a restaurant table last week.  She can almost pull herself up to a standing position when she is sitting in her crib.  And Kylie can now stand by herself while holding on to something too.  Ky loves picking up things and transfering them hand to hand.  She is currently fascinates by the drawstrings on sweatshirts.  And I have found that if she gets tired with her toys I can just plop the diaper bag down beside her and she will spend a good half an hour pulling each thing out individually and inspecting it.  She is a super nosy baby and has to know what's going on around her at all times.  She will crane her neck around to see something behind her and will lean forward to see something that is below her.

We are still pacifier free.  She has been sleeping really good too.  We had a couple nights last week where she was waking up screaming and couldn't go back to sleep, but we managed to push through that and are doing much better now.  Ky has taken to smiling and giggling in her sleep, and it melts my heart everytime I see her do that.

And just when I think I can't love her anymore than I already do, I realized that I can.  I love you Ky Bug, with every fiber of my being.

Fishing at the Lake

On Tuesday Rex, Kylie, our friend Travis, and I headed up to a local lake to go fishing.  It was a beautiful day, but a bit chilly.  While the boys fished, Kylie and I napped on a blanket on the beach.  We snacked on some string cheese and uncrustables and I was able to read my book for a bit.  No fish were caught though, but we made up for it by going to this great little Mexican restaurant for lunch afterwards.  It was all in all a quite lovely day.

Our Sunday

Kylie let me sleep in an extra half an hour, which was greatly appreciated.  Then we lazed about the house for a while, took a shower, and went on our merry way.

First stop Target, where I found 2 pairs of jeans that were on sale.  One pair was $4.98 and the other was $6.39.  Score for me!!!  I got a couple of shirts that were on sale too.  Kylie got a cute Love Bug shirt (we can't seem to go anywhere without buying the bug something).  I had to restrain myself in the baby section though.  They have so many dresses and skirts that are just too darn cute.  Next paycheck I'll have to buy at least one.  Well, maybe two.

Then to Wally World.  Rex wanted to get some more fishing lures and leaders.  And it's so weird.  Every time that we are at Wal Mart we see this one guy there.  And we're at Wal Mart a lot.  He doesn't work there, and he is never shopping, at least what we can tell.  He never has a cart or basket at least.  It's weird.

Then on to Forever 21.  I still had a some money left on a gift card so I was able to pick up a cute flowered blouse.  Hopefully next weekend we have enough energy to go out so I can join in on the Stepping Out Saturday on Harper's Happenings.

We finished our trip out at Red Lobster.  Yum.  I always get a cherry coke there because they add the real grenadine too it and put cherries in it too.  And their cheese biscuits?  To die for.  Who cares if they're a thousand calories each.

And Kylie said da da for the first time!!! Rex is thrilled.  And now she won't stop saying it either.  She's playing with her toys right now just going "dadadadadadadadadadada."  Too frigging cute.  It's also looking like she is finally beginning to teethe.  Her bottom gum is a little bit swollen, and she was the crankiest baby ever when we were out and about, which is totally unlike her.  She was also chewing like crazy on everything in sight.  I think a Sophie the Giraffe is in order.

Look at these kick ace nails.  I got those Sally Hansen peel off nail polish thingies and they're awesome!!  I love that they don't require any drying time because as other mamas know, babies don't give you the luxury to let your nail polish dry.  So these are my new favorite things.  A little pricey, but I bought them at Wal Mart so at least I got a discount on them.

Crazy Busy

So that's been the story of my life lately.  Crazy busy.  Between working 45+ hours a week, taking care of Rex and the Ky Bug, and trying to get chores done, it's been quite hectic in our household as of late.

Rex is still on disability and is waiting for worker's comp to approve his MRI.  His doctor's and physical therapist believe he has a ruptured or compressed disk in his back.  And of course worker's comp doesn't want to pay for an MRI and are being slower than molasses in January.  For the meantime, he's being Mr. Mom.  We're so happy that something good came out of hurting his back.  When I was home all the time and he was working, he was often unhappy because Kylie wasn't very interested in him.  She'd give him a quick glance and then maybe a smile and go back to whatever she was doing.  Now they're closer than two peas in a pod.  Kylie absolutely ADORES Rex.  She laughs at him, makes funny faces at him, naps in his arms, and always makes sure she knows where he is in the room before she settles down to doing something.  It's making me jealous sometimes, y'all.

Kylie is still growing by leaps and bounds.  On the 4th she turned 7 months old.  7 frigging months old!!! I can't believe it sometimes.  I should have that post up in a couple of days.  Oh, and guess what?!?!  The Ky Bug is now mobile!!!!  She is army crawling everywhere!  But she rarely goes forward, she goes backwards.  Is my my kid a rebel or what, ha!  And she just said da da for the first time this morning!!!

Meet Josie.  Our newest addition.  Somebody turned her into the pound very very pregnant (even though you can't tell in the picture above, but trust me she's huge, she looks how I feel in the pic above at 41 weeks preggo). And the animal shelter around here have policies against adopting out pregnant dogs, so they were just going to put her down.  But luckily my friend works there and was able to arrange for us to take her so she wouldn't be.  She is the sweetest little thing and has settled right in to life in our crazy home.  Her poor little belly is huge right now.  You can even see the puppies moving and feel them kicking away.  Poor Josie is ready for those little guys to come out.  She sighs and wheezes all the time as she settles down and finds a comfortable spot. Poor girl.  I'll post pictures of the puppies as soon as she has them!

I'm still breastfeeding as of now.  It's getting much harder to keep my supply up with working so much, and especially since I had a low supply to begin with.  And this week both of the SNS's broke, courtesy of Ky.  She pulled out the tubing in both of them :(  I'm now contemplating either buying a new one which would be between $50-$80 or just keep giving her a bottle after I breastfeed.  Which is a pain, but it works.  It's so frustrating sometimes.  I wish I could go back to when Ky was born and start all over with the knowledge I have right now.  I met with lactation consultants so many times, and not once did they say to just stop supplementing and just breastfeed all the time to get my supply to come in.  Oh well.  I can't change it now.

Hi There

Here's a little bit of the Ky Bug from this afternoon.  I just had to show off her fluffy butt!!!
