I Hate People

Well, I guess technically I just hate stupid people. A lot. And someone is allowing the stupid people to multiply and create more stupid people.

This is what working in retail will do to you. Even if it is a pet store with lots of adorable animals. Customer service blows. There are times I love it, when people actually listen to your advice and you help them solve a real problem. You get all warm and fuzzy inside and you feel like you accomplished something.

But then you run into a stupid person. Like one who can't understand why a baby rabbit can't live off of carrot juice. It's because you have a REAL rabbit and not frigging bugs bunny. Hate to break it to you, but cartoons lie. Or the person who can't understand why she can't let her six pit bull puppies nurse from a cat who is already nursing five kittens. Well, hmm, let's see. First of all it's a CAT not a dog and secondly the week old pit bill puppies are as big as the mama cat already. And no we cannot take the puppies since you are too cheap and lazy to bottle feed them. Maybe next time you should get your dog spayed or at least keep her in the yard so she can't get knocked up. Or the person who asks you what kind of dog you think their dog is. Well, it sure looks like an Akita/Yellow Lab mix. No, I don't think it's a Husky. It has a yellow coat, brown eyes, and has an Akita's face and tail. Once again, doesn't really look like a Husky. And again, IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A DAMN HUSKY! And finally, call the dog whatever the fudge you want to, but stop asking my opinion if you don't want to listen to it!!!

And I think what's worse than stupid people is entitled people. You know, the ones that think that your sole purpose on this earth is to make them happy no matter how outrageous their demands are. Sorry ma'am but I can't give you a cash refund for something you purchased two years ago that is in tatters and that you don't have the receipt for. Policy states that you have 60 days, item must be in resellable condition, and that you have the original receipt. No ma'am I can't look up a receipt from 2 years ago. No ma'am I can't give you a refund. No. No. No. Yes ma'am you call our main office. Have a wonderful day (translation=go burn in hell). Or this one. No sir I can't accept this coupon. It expired last year. I can only accept coupons that have expired in this week or in the future. Sir, it was 6 months ago. Sir, they all have expiration dates. If we take this coupon we don't get paid for it and we don't want that. Sir we didnt give you this coupon, you clipped it out of the newspaper, we only email coupons now. No sir, we can't accept it. Yes sir, you sure can call our main office. Here's the number (translation=I hope you get a paper cut from this card and bleed to death).

So sorry about that. I just needed to vent. And I didnt even get to the customers that scream and cry and cuss you out in front of everyone. Thank God that all of our customers aren't like that or I think I would have killed myself by now.

I'll be back in a couple of days with a much happier post about Kylie's fluffy butt :)

Oh please excuse any typos, I typed this on my phone and I was ranting, so misspellings and bad grammar are a given, thanks!

Busted

So the other day we were out running errands and I was keeping my eye out for Mrs. Meyers cleaning products. Heir to Blair had mentioned them on Twitter several times and I decided that I HAD to have them. It was a must.

So I check Wal-Mart. Nothing. K-Mart. Nothing. Finally Super Target and ::angels singing:: success! They have it! I buy the basil scented spray which even Rex said smelled good and am happy the rest of the day. But then we get home and the rest of the night is too busy for me to try any out.

The next day I get home from work and picking Ky up from the sitters and I decide that I need to use Mrs. Meyers Countertop Spray now. As in this very moment. I'm happily cleaning the bathroom when Rex calls me.

"Hey, what's up babe?"

"Not much. Just cleaning the bathroom."

"Why are you cleaning the bathroom?"

"Umm... because it's dirty?"

"No, you just wanted to use your new cleaning stuff!"

Busted.

GTKY

GTKY!

to play..just copy the questions..answer them..then head to MannLand5 and link up*
the q's.
1. do you watch/read the news? I usually read the news on my iPhone on my breaks at work.  I really don't like watching the news because they repeat so much stuff and make you wait til the very end to see the story you want.

2. how would you describe your "look"? Blah?  I'm really a jeans and a t-shirt kind of gal.  And I would wear flip flops all year if I could.  I hate shoes.  Though I am making a concentrated effort to buy cuter, more "girly" clothes.  My hubby definitely appreciates it.

3. did you play sports in high school or college? Not any school sports, but I did show my horses all through middle school and high school.  I mainly did hunter jumper with some trail and barrel racing mixed in.

4. would you rather give up lipstick/gloss or high heels? Neither?  I really don't use lip gloss, just lip balm and I rarely wear high heels.  I'm not the most graceful person out there.

5. what's your favorite show to watch on tv? Dexter, True Blood, Monk, The Venture Bros, and Nurse Jackie
6. would you rather bake or cook? Most definitely baking. I'm much better at baking than cooking.  I can whip up a mean dark chocolate cake with orange cream filling and chocolate ganache.  Mmmm.
7. shorts or skirts? Shorts!

8. what's your favorite scary movie? I like the older ones like The Poltergeist.

8 Months!!!

So as of last Monday, Kylie is 8 months old!  Eeek!  Where has time gone?  She is now a little person, and is soaking up the world around her.  Even my grandma's dog notices the change.  When she was a newborn he wasn't so sure of her and kinda looked like he wouldn't mind eating her.  Yesterday when we were visiting with my grandma, he loved her and allowed himself to be pet by Kylie too, enjoying her squeals and giggles in the process.  It's amazing how fast she has progressed in such a short amount of time.

Kylie is wearing clothes anywhere from 3-6 months to 12 months.  That's right, she finally grew out of all her 0-3 onesies.  At least I got good use out of them.  I love that I can buy her the 12 month clothes now because that has greatly expanded the shopping horizon on baby clothes.  Have y'all seen the spring dresses at Target for toddlers?  Frigging adorable.

Her eyes have staid the blue with green in the middle, and her hair has finally settled on being a dark blonde.  She still has her nice long dark eyelashes and perfect little eyebrows.

She babbles away all the time now.  No new words this month so far, but a whole lot of new sounds.  She likes to sing to the radio in the car, and now often times tries to talk while nursing.  Especially if she is upset, then it's like she telling my boob about how horrible life is to her.  Ky is usually a super happy baby and is often times squealing and giggling.

Kylie is eating more and more solid foods now.  She loves mangos, squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, chicken, yogurt, corn, oatmeal, pears, and cheese puffs.  Still does not like green beans, prunes, and rice cereal.

She is very observant and catches on to things quick.  She has started mimicking us doing a lot of things and it's so cute to watch her learn something and then implement it on her own.  The other week she was playing in her crib when she noticed Rex had left a xbox controller within reach on a bedside table.  So she reaches through the slats and grabs it but can't get it through because it's too wide.  She then proceeds to start turning in this way and that, and gets the frigging controller through the slats!!! I couldn't believe it!!!

Ky is *this* close to crawling.  She can  get up on all fours no problem and will rock back and forth and sometimes take a couple of steps forward.  She just hasn't fully committed herself to it yet.  She still gets around pretty good with army crawling, rolling, and lunging for things though.  She can pull herself up to a standing position when she is sitting in her crib, and this of course led Rex and I to lower her mattress down.  Ky loves to dance with us and will bounce and swing all around while holding onto our hands.

She absolutely LOVES to read.  She gets super excited when she sees you getting a book.  And you must read the book to her, she gets upset if you hand her a book and then do nothing.  Her favorite books are a series of flap books by Karen Katz.  Her favorite ones out of the series is Where is Baby's Mama? and What Does Baby Say?  Kylie even tries opening the flaps on her own now.

Kylie is napping a lot more regularly now and it's a godsend.  She will usually take two 1-2 hour naps.  One around 10 am and the other around 2-3 pm.  Bedtimes have been a bit of a struggle lately because of her teething.  That's right the Bug has teeth now.  Both of her two front bottom teeth decided to come in at the same time.  Usually the only thing that helps with the teething pain is chewing on celery, mama's boob, or on frozen mangos.

I'll finish it off with some likes and dislikes of the Bug.

Likes:  Reading, dancing, Sponge Bob, balloon kisses from daddy, vacuuming with mommy, watching mommy blow dry her hair

Dislikes:  Diaper changes, bedtime, when mommy and daddy don't let her play with their iPhones, being in the car seat when she's not in the car

My Crazy Crazy Schedule

So I thought I would write down the schedule Rex, Ky, and I are keeping these days. I know one day I will look back at it and just shake my head for how crazy it all is. It's not a perfect schedule at all, but most of the time it gets us through the week.

Monday

Ky wakes up between 7 and 7:30 and I change her and feed her and let the dogs out to go potty. Then we usually go out and play in the living room until Rex wakes up. Then we will have some breakfast and do chores or run errands. Ky takes a nap around 10 am. At about 11:45 I start getting ready for work and by 12:30 I'm out the door. Rex and Ky do their thing till about 9 when he puts her down for the night and then starts dinner. I get home at 10:30, we eat, shower, possibly knock boots, and then go to bed.

Tuesday

One of my days off. Glorious. I wake up with Kylie between 7 and 7:30, change and feed her, let out the dogs, etc. When Rex gets up we will usually go out for an early lunch and some errands. Kylie loves being out and about and will nap in the car. If we're at home we'll play and take a walk outside or go sit on the patio swing. Ky will nap at 10 am and then again at 2 pm. I'll do chores and laundry. I'll make dinner about 6 pm where Kylie will eat her solids for the day. After dinner I'll get Kylie's diaper bag ready for the sitters the next day and put away laundry. We usually start Ky's bedtime stuff (bath every other night, nursing, book, rocking) around 8 pm and most times have her asleep by 9. Then Rex and I usually watch a movie or tv shows on Netflix, shower, and then go to bed by 10.

Wednesday-Friday

I wake up at 2:45 am. Yeah, I know it sucks. I get ready for work and make Kylie's bottles for the day. I'm out the door by 3:30. Rex gets up at 4:45 am an puts the dogs outside for the day and lets Josie go potty and then puts her back in with her pups. He leaves the house by 5:10. Don't worry, Kylie is not left alone. We live with my parents who are both teachers so at about 6:30 my mom wakes up Ky, changes her and loads her up to drop her off at the sitters, who lives just up the street from us. I get off of work at 2, so I'm usually at the sitters by 2:30/2:40 to pick Ky up. We'll go home and check on all the dogs and then I'll nurse her while watching tv or checking out blogs on the computer. Then Ky plays on the floor with toys where I throw some laundry in the washer, rinse out her used bottles, repack the diaper bag, etc. Then I'll hang with Ky and cuddle for a little bit. About 5 pm I'll start getting things ready for dinner and she will play in her exersaucer. Rex gets home about 6 and then we all have dinner and then either watch tv or go for a walk together. I'll start Ky's bedtime routine between 7:30 and 8 an have her in her crib by 9. Then Rex and I take a shower, might have some mommy and daddy time if we aren't too exhausted, and then be in bed by 10.

Sunday

Another day off for all of us!!! Pretty much like Tuesday except that every once in awhile we'll make it to church if we wake up on time (we really need to go more often though). This is the day Rex will usually hang out with friends and go fishing. Ky and I will usually meet my grandma for lunch and visit with her for a bit too.

So there it is. Except it usually doesn't go that smoothly. But it's getting there.
